DUKE OF WINDSOR

CONFLICTING REPORTS AS TO INTENTIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. LONDON. June 26. The Duke and Duchess o£ Windsor travelled by road from 19 hours from Antibes to Barcelona. They left all their possessions in France and brought only a few suitcases. They gave the American Ambassador the key to their Paris house.

The Duke said the French people seemed stunned by the disaster. According to the Madrid correspondent of the British United Press, the Duke said: "We are not going to the United States. We will remain in Spain for the time being." This conflicts with an earlier message from Madrid reporting that the Duke’s secretary stated that the Duke and Duchess were to go to England in a few days.
