METAL AND SAND. rpHE Masterton County Council notifies the general public that the special grade of metal and sand advertised for sale at the specially reduced price of 4/- and 1/6, respectively, will be withdrawn from sale at these prices on June 30. 1940. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to and in exercise of the powers conferred on it by "The Counties’ Act, 1920” and "The Rating Act, 1925” and of all other powers in that behalf enabling it, that the Masterton County Council intends at an Ordinary Meeting of the said Council, to be, held in the Council Chambers, Chapel Street. Masterton. on Tuesday, the 9th day of July, 1940, at 2 p.m. to make and levy the following Rates for the year commenced on the Ist day of April, 1940, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1941:— GENERAL RATES. A GENERAL RATE under Sections 120 and 121 of "The Counties’ Act, 1920” on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property appearing on the Valuation Roll of the six respective Ridings of the County as follows: — IN THE OPAKI RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY (Id.) in the Pound. IN THE RANGITUMAU RIDING, a General Rate of SEVEN EIGHTHS OF ONE PENNY (id.) in the Pound. IN THE UPPER TAUERU RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY AND ONE EIGHTH OF ONE PENNY (l.Jd.) in the Pound IN THE TE WHITI RIDING, a General Rate of FIFTEEN SIXTEENTHS OF ONE PENNY (15/16d.) in the Pound. IN THE URITI RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY AND THREE EIGHTHS OF ONE PEJNNY (l.gd) in the Pound.
IN THE WAINUIORU RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY AND THREE EIGHTHS OF ONE PENNY l.id.) in the Pound. HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID RATE. A RATE under the provisions of Section 52 of "The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926” of FIVE SIXTEENTHS OF ONE PENNY (5/16d.) in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property in the County of Masterton, such Rate being required to meet the contributions payable by the Council to the Wairarapa Hospital Board. SEPARATE RATES. ALSO UNDER the provisions of “The Water Suppjy Act, 1908” and amendments thereto to make and levy separate Rates for the maintenance of Water Races within the respective Water Supply Districts as follows:— A SEPARATE RATE OF THREE FOURTHS OF ONE PENNY (;jd.) in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property within the UPPER PLAIN WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT NO. 1. A SEPARATE RATE OF ONE PENNY AND ONE SIXTH OF ONE PENNY (1.1/6d.) in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property within the OPAKI WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT. A SEPARATE RATE OF ONE PENNY (Id.) in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property within the TE ORE ORE WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT. A CONTRIBUTION EQUAL TO ONE SHILLING AND SIX PENCE (1/6) per acre, with a minimum charge of Ten Shillings (10/-) over all Rateable, property within the UPPER PLAIN WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT NO. 2. SPECIAL RATES. ALSO UNDER THE PROVISIONS of "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” to collect so much as is required of each of the Annual recurring Special Rates levied on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property within the several Special Rating Districts of the County of Masterton to provide the Annual Charges on the Loans raised in the said Districts. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that all such Rates shall become payable in one ’sum at the County Office. Chapel Street, Masterton, on the 24th' day of July. 1940. Pursuant to a Resolution ef the Masterton County Council, a Rebate of Five (5) per cent will be allowed off the GENERAL RATE if all Rates made and levied for the year ended 31st March, 1941, are paid on or before THURSDAY, the Bth day of August, 1940.
