CAR CRASHES INTO TREE

WOMAN DIES FROM INJURIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NELSON. June 25. A young woman suffered injuries which proved fatal when a car ran off the driveway at the Nelson Mental Hospital and collided with a tree. The victim was Miss Sadie Howard, aged 19. who died in hospital as the result of a .fracture of the base of the skull. The drivei', Mr Wilfred Norman, aged 22, was sent to hospital with a lacerated skull, wounds and shock. His condition is satisfactory. There were three men and two women in the car. but the other three occupants received only minor injuries. When the car’ was 20 yards from the main entrance it ran off the roadway down a three-foot bank and struck a tree. Both doors on the left side were pulled off and the roof caved in.
