ESPERANTO
MASTERTON CLUB MEETING. At the weekly meeting of the Masterton Esperanto Club held last evening, Mr A. G. Wiltshire presided over a very good attendance, which included Mr H. F. Franks, a former secretary and tutor of the club. Correspondence in Esperanto from abroad comprised journals published in England, Belgium, China and Yugoslavia. Interesting excerpts from these publications were presented to the club by the secretary, Mr W. H. King. The elementary class under the guidance of Mr King pursued its study of Esperanto syntax and the advanced group directed by Mr Wiltshire continued the practical work of translating a well-known book. Both classes reported substantial progress in their respective activities. At the expiration of the tuition period, two short talks were presented. The secretary outlined the Esperanto portion of his recent vacation at Palmerston North, Auckland and Wellington. The concluding item was contributed by Mr Flanks.
