“TELL ME THE TRUTH”
STAGE EFFECTS A FEATURE. NEXT WEEK'S PRESENTATION. In every modern stage production, the .effects play a highly important part. For the production of "Tell Me the Truth," at the Opera House next Monday and Tuesday, the Little Theatre Society has spared no effort to pro vide a stage-setting that faithfully represents the stateliness of the Victorian era as typified in the Tweedie mansion in which the action of the plaj takes place. Many local residents have very kindly lent period furniture fo: this purpose. To these the society it truly grateful. The society has been fortunate, also, in finding willing assistants to perform the somewha thankless tasks, the necessity for which the general public scarcely realises though they are as essential to the sue cess of the production as the work o:. the cast itself. As already announced, the produce: is Mr J. M. Lawson, whose exacting attention to detail the whole cast is prepared to certify. The stage-manage: is Mr Claude Kyngdon, and, thougl: this is his first essay in sole charge o) the stage, his work promises to be o. the highest quality. The importanduties of wardrobe-mistress and pro-perty-mistress are in the capable hands of Mrs J. M. Lawson and Miss Patriot;: Gill respectively, and in these departments something exceptional is expect ed. Miss Madge Kane will hold the important post of "prompt. thougl such is the efficiency of the cast tha it is expected that her job will, afte; all. be a sinecure. Lighting effects wil. bo the responsibility of Mr Lance Hop kins as electrician. With this team, anc the efficient cast already published, the production is assured of success. The net proceeds of the production, are to be devoted, through the Masterton sub-centre of the Red Cross Society, exclusively to military purposes. In present conditions, it is hardly necessary to emphasise the importance of supporting such an object.
