FUND OFFICIALLY CLOSED. HALF-MILLTON MARK CLOSELY APPROACHED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. With the closing of the Queen Carnival in Auckland today, the Sick. Wounded and Distress Fund Appeal has officially closed, though there are several large raffles aiid other scheduled functions yet to be held. The total has now reached £430,000 and the Dominion Organiser. Mr J. Abel, anticipates that when the final clean-up JS made the appeal will net little short of the half-million mark. Those who have promised regular weekly or monthly contributions may send them to the organiser. Vivian Street. Wellington.
