Mrs A. E. Powell is a Pongaroa visitor to Napier. Mrs A. H. Herbert, of Eketahuna, is a visitor to Napier. Mrs T. Burr, of Pahiatua. and formerly of Masterton. was a weekend visitor to Masterton.
Mrs K. J. Aplin, Masterton. is visiting Mrs A. O’Cain. Devonport, Auckland.
Mr and Mrs McKay. Wellington, are staying at the Hotel Midland, Masterton.
The marriage took place recently at All Saints’ Church, Palmerston North, of Mabel Edith, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs S. K. Raleigh, of Alfredton, to Edward William, son of Mrs Sinclair, of Taihape. The death has occurred of Mrs Sarah Cullen, widow of the late Mr J. C. Cullen, Hastings, both wellknown early residents of Hastings. Born in Lincoln, England, Mrs Cullen was just a month off attaining her eighty-ninth birthday. She came to New Zealand when 23 years of age, arriving at Nelson, but she moved to Napier shortly after. Following about five years’ residence in Napier she moved to Hastings, where she and her husband remained. Mrs Cullen took a keen and active interest in the work of St Matthew's Church. Her death occurred exactly 17 years after that of her husband.
