The French High Commissioner in Syria, broadcasting today, said: "The General Officer Commanding in Syria. General Mittelhauser, has decided to carry on the mission of France in Syria and to defend there with indomitable energy the honour of France and of her flag.” The French High Commissioner added that he was in complete agreement with the General Officer Commanding.

PARLEY WITH ITALY NAMES OF THE DELEGATES REPORTED. RELIABLE NEWS DELAYED. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 11.55 a.m.) RUGBY, June 23. No reliable news has yet reached London concerning the progress of the armistice negotiations between the French and Italian delegations. According to German wireless reports, the French delegation arrived at Rome at 3 p.m. today and started negotiations an hour later.

Agency reports state that an official Italian communique gives the following names of delegates: For Italy: Count Ciano, Marshal Badoglio, Admiral Caragnair, Generals Pricolo and Roatta.

For France: Genersl Huntziger, Parisot and Bergeret, Admiral Leluc, and M. Leon Noel.
