MR GANDHI’S VIEW
APPROVAL OF FRENCH ACTION. HOW HITLER WILL BE DEFEATED. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. BOMBAY, June 22. Mr Gandhi, in an article in “Harijan,” said: “Anli-Hitlerism will never defeat Hitlerism. French statesmen show real courage in refusing to be a party to senseless mutual slaughter. Force did not save the Czechs, Poles. Norwegians, Belgians, and Dutch. Hitler will be defeated because he will not be able to hold conquered nations in subjugation forever.” Mr Gandhi added: "If the British had said to Hitler, 'We will meet your violence with non-violence,’ Europe would have added several inches to its moral stature."
