CAPTURED AND TAKEN INTO PORT BRITISH TRAWLER’S GALLANT EXPLOIT. ACTION IN GULF OF ADEN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) LONDON, June 22. The Admiralty communique states that a large Italian submarine surrendered to a British trawler, the Moonstone, which was patrolling in the Gulf of Aden. The trawler attacked with depth charges, which brought the submarine to the surface. The latter engaged the trawler with her entire armament, and the trawler replied with her guns and a Lewis gun, scoring hits. The submarine subsequently surrendered and was brought to Aden as a prize.

The submarine’s armament consisted of torpedoes, two 3.9 in guns and smaller guns. The armament of the trawler was a 4in gun and a Lewis gun.
