ACCEPTANCE OF SHAMEFUL TERMS BORDEAUX MINISTRY BREAKS TREATY. FRENCH IN SYRIA TO FIGHT ON. In a commentary on the terms given in London, Daventry reports, it is stated that they exact the complete capitulation of France. Germany has no intention of discussing peace at the pi esent stage. Marshal Petain and the Minister of Foreign Affairs (M. Baudouin) had stated that France would not agree to dishonourable or shameful terms but it would be difficult to imagine terms more dishonourable or more shameful than those agreed to. France has broken faith with Britain under her treaty obligations, but there were masses of Frenchmen who had been prevented from acting according to the dictates of honour by the action of the Bordeaux Government.

The French High Commissioner in Syria said the French forces there intended to fight on and to defend the honour of France and the flag.
