THE FASHION SPOTLIGHT
HELD BY HATS. Hats hold the fashion spotlight this winter season and the variety of silhouettes and fabrics afford every woman the opportunity of choosing a hat as becoming as it is smart, states Miss Joan Blondell, who is starred in Columbia’s "The Amazing Mr Williams," with Melvyn Douglas. The tricky extreme hats of last season are out —for a long time. Evening turbans are softly and becomingly draped and daytime hats are feminine and attractive. The beautiful part of the new styles is that no matter how women wear their hair it is impossible to find a hat this is specially suited for a different hair-do. They all combine to make a lovely season for hats. Although Miss Blondell has never believed in hats for evening she has now changed her mind and has a hat. to go with each of her new dinner gowns. Another good thing about the new hats is that husbands like them too. And everyone knows that women buy clothes —hats especially—that please the- menfolk.
