TABLE TENNIS COMPETITION LAST NIGHT. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Eketahuna Table Tennis Clut held a “knock out" competition las’ night for trophies donated by the secretary, Mr L. Koce. The majority of the games were very evenly contested In the finals E. Nielsen and Miss E Sigvertsen defeated P. Sigvertsen and Mrs J. Curry. FRIENDLY SOCIETIES CARD TOURNAMENT. The Friendly Societies' card tournament was advanced a further stage last evening, results being: Druids be?.' Fire Brigade 14/12: Odd Fellows beat Foresters’ 14/8. POWER BOARD MR DAVIES ELECTED CHAIRMAN. At a meeting of the Tararua Power Board, this morning. Mr P. Davies was elected chairman to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr J. D. Wilson The other candidate for the position was Mr J. B. Carruthers. Mr Davies suitably acknowledged his election. An expression of sympathy was passed to the relatives of the late Mr Wilson. Members paid a tribute to the excellent service Mr Wilson had rendered the Board over a long period of years.
