HEROIC POLES
RETREAT OF REFUGEES COVERED. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. BERNE. June 20. French officers reaching the Swiss frontier praise the heroism of 2000 Polish troops-, who sacrificed themselves in covering the retreat of the civilians. The Poles took up positions at Charauemcnt. near the Swiss frontier. and launched an attack against advancing German tanks, at which thev filing bottles of petrol which set tanks on fire. The majority of the Poles were killed.
