LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY
PROGRAMME FOR SEASON. A meeting of the executive committee of the Little Theatre Society was held last evening, when thf principal business dealt with was tin arranging for the first major produc, tion of the season. This will be “Tell Me The Truth." by the eminent English actor and screen star. Leslie Howard. The producer will be Mr J. M. Lawson The play is described as an hilariou? comedy.' filled with comic situations The performance will take place at the Opera House on Monday and Tuesday. July 1 and 2.
All the net profits from the society’; productions during the season are to be devoted to patriotic purposes. It was decided the profits from the first production be handed to the Masterton Red Cross for the benefit of military objects. The particular patriotic purposes to be benefited by future productions will be decided from time to time. For the Society's second production on August 13 and 14. the play selected is “When We Are Married.” by J. B. Priestley. The producer will be Mrs E. J. Rich. The third production for which a play is yet to bo selected, will take place on October 8 and 9. The producer will be Mr J. A. Kennedy.
The holding of a social evening was discussed, when it was decided that owing to various circumstances it would be impossible to hold one before the end of July. The matter will be dealt with at a future meeting.
