GREAT INCREASE IN FLOW FROM UNITED STATES FOLLOWING ON POLICY DECISIONS. PURCHASING BOARD AUGMENTS ORDERS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 9. “The British and French Purchasing Board is in a position to state that, thanks to the ruling recently made in Washington regarding the release of surplus United States Government equipment and material, the flow of munitions of all kinds shipped from America will immediately be augmented,” says a statement given by the board to the United States Press. “According to information received from Washington certain important quantities of war materials —old but all in fully serviceable conditionhave been or are being declared surplus by the United States Army and Navy. This surplus is being taken over by United States manufacturers in exchange for more up-to-date supplies. “The British and French Purchasing Board is, therefore, negotiating directly with the manufacturers in question for the purchase of this material for use by the Allied Governments. “This, coming on top of deliveries against orders already placed directly by the Purchasing Board and covering as it does a variety of war equipment and material, will enable the board to conduct its future activities on a constantly widening basis, a basis corresponding not only to the expansion of American industry but also to any facilities that may be granted in the future under the ruling about United States surplus material,”
