KING ASKED TO DECLARE WAR ON ITALY ON BEHALF OF DOMINION. PRIME MINISTER'S DECLARATION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.0 .a.m.) OTTAWA, June 10. Mr Mackenzie King, in the House of Commons, announced that word had been received from London that hostilities against Italy would start at midnight on June 10, London time. The House of Commons thereupon unanimously voted in favour of Mr Mackenzie King’s resolution asking his Majesty to declare war' against Italy on behalf of Canada. Mr Mackenzie King said: “Knowing where Italy stands freed the hands of Britain and France for more vigorous action.” The police are rounding up Italians throughout the country. The ConsulGeneral and other Italian Government representatives are receiving their' passports immediately.
