The hearing of the murder charge preferred against Douglas Herbert Cartman, a single man aged 22, was begun this morning. Accused is charged with the murder at Waikino on April 2 last, of Elizabeth Agnes Hamilton, a married woman aged 27, whose body was found next morning in the scrub beside the Waikino-Waitewheta Road.
