GOLD MINING
COMPANY RETURNS. The New River Gold Dredging Co., Ltd., reports that owing to the delay in completion of repairs and because the dredge is working through tailings, there will be no wash-up this week. Rimu Flat clean-up for the week ended June 3: 213.850 z from 51,492 yards in 133 hours 47 minutes. Blackwater Mines return for May. 1940: Crushed. 4720 tons, yielding 2024 fine ounces of gold from all sources, including a clean-up of the old mill, the value of which, taking gold at 168 s per fine ounce, was £17,002. Working expenses, not including ordinary or war gold duty, were £8791. Development expenditure was £ 72'6 and capital expenditure £790.
