FEILDING SALE. LATE RATES MAINTAINED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING. June 7. Prices were steady at late rates in all departments of the Feilding sale today. The entries were on the small side, and practically all the stock was sold. Fat sheep: A light offering of moderately prime mutton made a good sale, some of the lambs being in prime •finish. Heavy prime wethers made 25s to 26s Bd, mediumweights 23s to 24s Bd, light 21s 7d to 22s 9d; prime heavy ewes 21s to 21s 9d, second grade 17s 9d to 19s 3d, extra prime lambs 21s 4d to 22s Bd, medium prime 19s 9d to 20s lOd,
Store sheep: Not a very good selection of sheep was yarded in this section, but vendors found no- trouble in doing business at prices quite firm on recent sales. Forward two-tooth wethers made 21s 7d, others 14s to 16s 7d, best ewes lambs 21s 9d; good wether lambs 19s 7d, second quality 16s 6d to 17s 9d; b.f. lambs 16s. Store cattle: Unchanged values prevailed in this section.
Dairy Cattle: Very few dairy stock were yarded, and with the quality being poor values were backward. The best of the springing heifers made £6 to £6 ss, with others going at £4 to £5 ss.
Fat cattle: Beef sold very well. Light prime heifers made £6 Ils, second grade £4 15s to £5 7s; light prime cows £6 17s 6d to £7 10s; light steers £7; vealers, heavy, £1 16s to £2 10s, light 10s to £1 15s. Pigs: A heavier entry of pigs met with a keen demand at improved prices. Good weaners made 11s 6d to 14s, small ss; slips 16s to 19s; stores £1 8s; porkers £2 4s to £2 13s. CARTERTON SALE. PRICES ON PAR WITH LATE RATES. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co. Ltd report tnat a small yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward at their Carterton Sale yesterday and was offered to a fair attendance. Prices were on a par with late rates, and a total clearance was effected under the hammer. Prices: Sheep: Fat wethers, 26s to 28s 2d; heavy fat ewes, 22s to 23s 4d; fat hoggets, 22s to 26s Id; fat b.f.’s, to 24s 6d; light fat ewes, 14s Id, to 15s 7d; ewe hoggets (extra good), to 28s 2d; ewe hoggets (medium), to 19s; b.f. hoggets, 12s 9d, 13s 6d to 14s; two and fourtooth wethers, to 21s Id. Cattle: Spring Jersey heifers, to £9; Ayrshire cows, just calved, to £11; small two-year Jersey heifers, £5 5s to £6 2s 6d; springing cows, to £5 15s; fat cows, £5 to £7 17s 6d; forward cows, £4 to £4 15s; store cows, £2 16s to £3 10s; fat heifers, to £5 16s.
Pigs: Weaners (good), 14s to 15s; ditto (medium), 12s to 13s; ditto (small), 10s to 11s; slips, 16s to 17s; store pigs, 18s to 235, light porkers, 33s 6d to 37s 6d.
