WAR WEDDINGS

JOAN PERRY’S NEW BRIDAL GOWN.

With the present rush of war weddings, many girls constantly in a quandary as to what design to have their bridal array patterned after. Exquisite ideas are being created by stylists in most of the world's fashion centres and Robert Kalloch, head designer at the Columbia Studios, has just modelled for Joan Perry, appearing in “Blind Alley” an outfit of sheer beauty for that “most important day of all.” The wedding gown which would indeed be the dream choice of thousands of women throughout the world, is of heavy crepe, with trailing yards of illusion veiling. The neckline is high and draped, fitting the severe fitted sleeves and tight fitted skirt. The traditional pearls are absent and the gown is complemented by a fantail back insertion, in place of the long train. The veil is held carefully in place by a silver diadem, and flows gracefully down in soft lines. The bouquet of white orchids, white roses, while phalaenospsis orchids and ihe traditional' lilies-of-the-valley, is sheathed in antique figured veiling, forming a shadow silhouette against the white of the gown. The tall slender girl dressed in such a gown would present the perfect bride of today!
