CHURCH SERVICES

The services in Knox Chdrch tomorrow will take the form of a thanksgiving service for the deliverance of the Allied forces from destruction in Belgium, and will be conducted by the Rev. John Davie. He will also preach at Tinui and Langdale. The service at Kaituna will be conducted by the Bible Class group. The chart lectures will be continued on Sunday night, at 7 o’clock, at the Gospel Hall, Ruhamah, the subject being “Christ's Coming as King.” The Holy Communion will be celebrated at St. Matthew’s Church tomorrow at 8 a.m., and at Kuripuni at 9 a.m. Archdeacon Rich will preach at St. Matthew’s Church both morning and evening, and the Rev. T. V. Pearson at Kuripuni. Archdeacon Rich will conduct the afternoon service at Taueru.

Mr W. J. Lowe will be the speaker at both Church of Christ services tomorrow.

The quarterly communion services will be held at the Lansdowne Presbyterian Church tomorrow, conducted by the Rev. David McNeur. who will also preach at Mauriceville West and Eketahuna. The Masterton Methodist Church will observe its anniversary tomorrow. Both the morning and evening services will be conducted by Rev. H. S. Kings. The subject for the morning service will be, “Why Worry About the Church?” A junior choir of 80 voices, under the direction of the Misses Donald, will render anthems, duets and sacred songs. At the evening service the Rev. Kings will preach on “A Churchless World.” The senior choir, under the conductorship of Mr S. H. Ralph, will present special music. A male quartet will sing, and the soprano soloist will be Miss D. Jamieson. The Methodist Church in Masterton had its commencement in the home of Mr H. Jones in 1855. The church was built in 1878 and enlarged in 1894. The Sunday school was erected in 1882 and was enlarged in 1899. The cost of erection of the church was £GBO, and the Sunday school £250. The service to be held tomorrow morning in the Y.M.C.A. at 11 o’clock on behalf of the Masterton Baptist Fellowship will be conducted by the Rev. Russell Grave, of the Brooklyn Baptist Church, Wellington. On Tuesday next the delegate's report on the central auxiliary meetings held recently in Wellington will be submitted.

The services at the Salvation Army tomorrow will be conducted by Major and Mrs Mahaffic. The Major will take for his subject in the morning service. “Christ As Our Redeemer.” and in the evening service, “The Unchanging God in a Changing World.”
