COMPENSATION GRANTS IN BRITAIN. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. LONDON. June 7. The Treasury announced that the Government will advance cash ft families whose homes suffer war damage. . , , Advances which will be made onlyin cases of urgent need will be against whatever is payable under the general scheme of Governmental compensation after the war. Grants for furnituw will not apply to households receiving an annual income above £4OO. For clothing, grants will not apply to in dividuals without dependants receiv ing an income of £250 or, with dependants. of £4OO. The maximum grant for furniture is £5O, for clothing £lO where there are no dependants. £2C where there is one dependant and £3O where there are more.
