CONTRIBUTION TO BRITISH WAR FUNDS. PARAMOUNT CHIEF'S MESSAGE. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 5. The first instalment of the contribution from the people of Basutoland toward the prosecution of the war has been paid to the British Government Of the £lO,OOO forming this contribution, nearly £6OOO has been subscribed by the native community. In his message sent with the gift the Paramount Chief speaks of his people's desire to reiterate unswerving loyalty to the King, and concludes: “The King is justly fighting the war and God will be with us.”
