WATER LILY PONDS

FURTHER CLUMPS PLANTED. The planting of water lilies in the new ornamental pond area surrounding the fountain in the Park has now been completed. The last clumps of lilies, which came to hand a few days ago. included yellow, red and pink shades. These have been planted in baskets, so that if the necessity arises, they may be readily shifted from one pond to another. White and blue lilies had already been planted, so that with the latest varieties, there will be a good range of colours when the lilies bloom. Although it is expected that, some of the lilies will flower during the coming season, the blooms will not be at their best until the following year.
