Miss A. M. Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— Barograph. 30.10. Shade temperature: Maximum 54.8, minimum 26.6. terrestrial 17.9. Sunshine, 6 hours 51 min. Rain, 21 points. Frost, 12.5 degrees. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 20 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. Weather forecast: Light to moderate winds, from a westerly quarter, later freshening in exposed positions: weather fair to fine and cold with frosts again tonight. SOLWAY RAINFALL. FIGURES FOR MAY. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that rain was measured on 19 days in May. The maximum fall was 1.38 inches on the 10th, and the minimum 1 point on the Bth, 21st and 30th. The total for the month was 4.38 inches, as against 1.66 (1939), 1.22 (1938), 3.61 (1937), 2.64 (1936), 6.99 (1935); average for 37 years, 4.34 inches. The total rainfall for the 5 months of this year is 14.16 inches, as compared with 7.56 1939), 22.31 (1938), 13.48 (1937), 22.29 (1936). 15.04 (1935). The average for 37 years is 15.33 inches.
