Mrs Mitchell (Wellington) is staying at the Hotel Midland, Masterton. Mrs N. F. Moore, who has been visiting Masterton, has returned to Eastbourne.

Mrs H. J. Francis, Renall Street, Masterton. has returned from a visit to Gisborne.

Misses O. Pain and J. Reston, of Masterton,, are spending the weekend in Hastings. Mrs Shaw and Miss Perry (Napier) booked in last night at the Hotel Midland, Masterton. Mrs S. M. Baird, Cole Street, Masterton, is staying with her daughter, Mrs R. Glendinning, Wairoa. Miss D. O’Donnell, Church Street, Masterton, is spending the weekend in Wellington. Mrs H. R. Francis, Seatoun, is staying with Mrs H. J. Francis, Renall Street, Masterton. Mrs E. P. Fenton, Fiji, and formerly of Masterton, who'has been on a visit to Wairarapa, is now visiting Auckland.

Miss D. Nicholls, who has been visiting Mrs C.- G. Monro, King Edward Street, Lansdowne, is now the guest of Mrs F. Perry, Martinborough.

Mrs J. McLaren, a well-known > resident of Dannevirke, died recently. Mrs McLaren was the daughter of -the late Mr and Mrs R. McLeod, old East Coast identities, who were very well known in the Ti Tree Point and Akitio districts. After her marriage to Mr D. A. McLaren she went to reside in the Kawhia district, and since his death, in 1916, resided at Dannevirke. Mrs McLaren is survived by one son, Mr J. McLaren, Kiritaki, and two daughters, Miss Dorella McLaren, of the staff of the Wellington Hospital, and Mrs H. McDonald, Te Uri.
