GERMANS TRY TO DEMOLISH PLACE. AND WRECK RAILWAY TO SWEDEN. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) ' LONDON. May 31. Germans, many of whom escaped in mufti, extensively demolished Narvik before abandoning the place. They also tried to wreck the railway to Sweden, destroying seven , engines and blowing up points and signals. Narvik Station still stands. The few civilian casualties demonstrate the accuracy of the British naval fire.
