GOLF

0 MASTERTON CLUB. ANNUAL TOURNAMENT. The annual tournament of the Masterton Golf Club will be held during the coming weekend. Owing to the present war conditions the committee has decided to amend the programme as follows: —Entry fee for all events. 10s: each separate competition, 2s 6d. Post entries will be received for all events.

The Wairarapa championship has been eliminated and will be replaced by the Wairarapa handicap. This event will comprise the first 1G best gross scores who will play off, match play on handicap. All other events will remain the same as on the official programme. The net proceeds of the tournament, will be donated to the Red Cross War Funds. It is hoped that golfers throughout the district will avail themselves of a good weekend of-golf, and at the same time assist in helping along the local Red Cross War Funds effort.
