NAZI LIES

ALLEGED BRITISH NAVAL LOSSES ADMIRALTY REFUTATION. HIGHLY IMAGINATIVE CLAIMS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 25. The German claims regarding British naval losses continue to reach a high imaginative level. Undeterred by the fact that at the outbreak of war Britain had only 15 capital ships, German propagandists have already claimed that 25 British capital ships have been sunk or damaged. Saturday’s German High Commaind communique stated that off Narvik on Friday a number of British cruisers and destroyers, one battleship, one aircraft-carrier, and a number of merchantman, etc., had been lost. Authoritative quarters in London state that the entire list is a fabrication. No such losses occurred.

The German official agency says German anti-aircraft gunfire sank a French destroyer off the French channel coast. DESTROYER SUNK ENEMY AIR ATTACK. The Admiralty announce, Daventry reports, the loss of the destroyer Wessex through enemy air attack. Six ratings were killed, and 15 wounded. The vessel was operating off the French Coast.
