Miss Lipscombs, Wellington, is a guest at the Hotel Midland, Masterton. Overseas visitors at the Hotel Midland are Mr and Mrs Wise, of Fiji.
Mrs Max Jago, of Palmerston North, is visiting her mother, Mrs R. Fellingham, Lansdowne. Mrs J. Urquhart ef Opotiki, is on a visit to her mother, Mrs J. Judd, EssexStreet, Masterton.
Among the debutantes presented at St Matthew’s Old Girls’ Ball at the Masonic Hall on Friday night was Miss Sheila Bennett, who wore a frock of white net over taffeta. The death occurred at the Palmerston North Hospital yesterday of Mrs G. W. Scott, sister of Mrs S. N. Kilgour, of Masterton, at the. age of 59 years. The late Mrs Scott had been ill for some months and her death was not unexpected. She was the second daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Hall, of Greymouth, and leaves a husband, two brothers and three sisters. The brothers are Messrs R. H. J. Hall (Sydney), J. H. Hall (Papateotoe), and the sisters Mesdames S. N. Kilgour (Masterton), W. Keetley (Christchurch), and J. Parfitt (Gerymouth).
