OPEN PARACHUTE FOUND BV POLICE WITH RADIO, DOCUMENTS AND MAPS. STRANGER WHO DISAPPEARED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 1.20 p.m.) DUBLIN, May 24. An open, used parachute, together with a radio transmitting and receiving set and military equipment of German origin were found by the police in a house in County Dublin. This was revealed in the Special Criminal Court when the occupier of the house was remanded on charges under the Emergency Powers Act. The police raided the house on the night of May 22 and found also documents and maps referring to Irish harbours, aerodromes, roads and bridges, the disposition of defence forces, and secret code and a box containing 20,000 United States dollars.
The occupier of the house allegedly made a statement saying that a stranger came to the house on the night of May 19, and asked to be accommodated for a short period. The stranger disappeared on May 22.
