In this issue the Railway Department advertises altered train arrangements in connection with the King s Birthday. x , The National Day of Prayer to be observed in all churches in the district tomorrow will be followed up by special services of public prayer, to be observed in half-hourly intervals on Wednesday, from 12.30 to 1.30 o’clock. Further particulars will be announced later. The two-day meeting to be held by the Wairarapa Coursing Club on June 1 and June 3 promises to be a very successful meeting. A large number of hares are being trained. A social and dance will be held in St Patrick’s Hall. Queen Street, on Wednesday night, May 29, at 8 o’clock. The music for the dancing will be supplied by J. Barnes’s Rhythm Boys. Special attention has been paid to the floor and a capable ladies’ committee is arranging the supper. Good prizes will be awarded winners in the card tourney. The dance will be held under the auspices of the Masterton Hibernian Society.
