FILM STAR WITH SMALLEST FEET
The girl with the smallest feet of any star in the world is brown-haired. I blue-eyed Mary Maguire who came from Australia via Hollywood to stat in British films. Mary's feet are sc small that she has to have shoes specially made to fit them. From toe to heel they measure five and a half inches. But that doesn't worry Mary because if it hadn’t been for her feet she might never have become a film star. Mary, who is appearing in the Aldwych Film Production "An Engr.’shman's Home,” with Edmund Gwenn Richard Ainley and Geoffrey Toone proudly displays the feet that have brought her fame. Three years ago, in .Australia, a shoe manufacturing company ran a competition to discover the girt with the smallest and prettiest feet. Mary entered the competition—and won. Pictures of her feet appeared in all newspapers. A film agent saw the photographs and decided to sec their owner. The result was a Hollywood contract for Mary. After making several American films, she went to London to appear with Gracie Fields in "Keep Smiling." Now she has decided to make her home in England and continue her career in British pictures. In “An Englishman's Home.” Mary plays the daughter of a typical English suburban family. The story deals with a sudden invasion of London by an enemy power. It was made on a highly spectacular scale and estimated to have cost £lOO,OOO.
