The statement that every year in the Christchurch district about 12,000 to 15.000 motor registration forms were wasted and lost to the department was made at the Chief Post Office, Christchurch, when it was emphasised that because of the paper shortage a less prodigal use of the forms would be appreciated. Many people took forms for their friends or to use for rough drafts, which usually resulted in overlapping and waste. This year especially the department was trying to govern the issue of forms,' and motorists, it was hoped, would co-operate.
