COSY THEATRE

“THE MAGNIFICENT FRAUD.” Boasting a daring, 'timely, provocative story, and a great cast headed by four of the screen’s most sensational performers—Akim Tamiroff, Lloyd Nolan, Mary Boland and Patricia Morison —Paramount’s explosive new drama, “The Magnificent Fraud,” will be shown tonight at the Cosy Theatre. Briefly, the story tells how. in a | mythical South American country, an actor dares to take the place of a dictator who has been assassinated in a bombing. The actor is forced to do so by a reckless, romantic American, the man behind the dictator, because the young American realises that the country will not be able to obtain a badly needed ten million dollar loan unless the dictator is thought to be alive. When a group of bright, talented youngsters, such as Betty Grable, Jackie Coogan, Joyce Mathews, Donald O’Connor, Larry Crabbe, and John Hartley, are given a script loaded with hilarious situations, and have a director like Nick Grinde, to help them screen it, it’s no wonder that Paramount’s, “Million Dollar Legs,” the associate feature, is one of the best campus comedies ever exported from the film capital. Also screening is the Third Chapter of the thrilling serial “The Lone Ranger Rides Again.”
