GOLD MINING
COMPANY RETURNS. Gold Mines of New Zealand, Ltd . has reported to the Stock Exchange Association the following dredge returns for the first half of May:—Barrytown, bullion, 3520z5; cubic yardage. 94,000; hours worked, 248; Kanieri, 1103ozs, 123,000, 263; Arahura, 5740z5, 180,000; 264. The Worksop dredge is being turned, opening up a new cut and therefore no clean-up took place last week.. The Rimu dredge returrf last week was 187.65 ounces from 40,560 yards in 133 hours 43 minutes. The Argo Dredge Return was 41 ounces for 135 hours and 14,000 yards. The Gillespies’ Beach gold dredge had a wash-up for the week ended Saturday of 350 z in 130 hours from 16,500 cubic yards. For the week ended May 17 the Clutha River dredge recovered 490 z in 131 hours. The Okarito dredge wash-up was 6oz in 74 hours.
