TAUPIRI COAL MINES
A SUCCESSFUL YEAR. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. May 15. At the 41st annual meeting of the Taupiri Coal Mines, Ltd., Mr E. W. Allison, who presided for the 40th year in succession, said that the year’s operations were again successful. Coal mined totalled 176,616 tons, an increase over the previous year of 1974 tons.
The directors recommended for the year a dividend of Is Gd per share on ordinary shares. This would absorb £9750. leaving a balance for profit and loss of £5661. In anticipation of an increased demand for coal, the directors were opening up another of its coal areas close to the existing mines, and it was developing most satisfactorily. Mr Allison and Mr_C. I. Nathan were re-elected directors.
