DUTCH NAVY

BULK ESCAPES CAPTURE.

HEAVY ARMY LOSSES.

(Received This Day, 11 a.m.) LONDON, May 15.

It is authoritatively stated that the bulk of the Dutch navy escaped last night and that the ships are now in the North Sea or at British ports. Certain contingents were thrown back into Belgium and will be re-formed as thenucleus of a new force. M. van Kleffens stated in Paris that one-quarter of Holland’s army of 400.000 were killed. He added that some Dutch regiments lost 80 per cent of their effectives. Holland's bombing force was wiped out, but Dutch planes and anti-aircraft guns brought down at least 150 German machines.
