BRITISH ARMY HOLDS UP ENEMY

Achievements of Air Squadrons MANY ENEMY MACHINES DESTROYED LIEGE FORTS STILL MOLDING OUT A British communique states, Daventry reports, that the British Expeditionary Force, after hard fighting, has successfully held serious German attacks. Since the German offensive started, the air component with the British Expeditionary Force has destroyed 124 enemy planes. British anti-aircraft units have shot down at least 23 planes in back areas. Many other enemy machines have been shot down by forward troops. At least seven have been accounted for by Territorial forces.

A Belgian communique states that the Liege forts continue to resist.
