The Ontario Supreme Court declared the Communist Party of Canada an illegal organisation, sentenced two members of the party convicted of circulating anti-war pamphlets to 36 months’ and 30 months’ imprisonment and imposed fines of 2000 dollars, and 1000 dollars respectively. The ruling is considered effective throughout Canada, but there is no immediate expectation of nation-wide anti-Commumst action.
