ATTACKS ON WARSHIPS
FALSE ENEMY CLAIMS. REFUTED BY ADMIRALTY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright LONDON. May 15. A German broadcast announced that German planes yesterday successfully attacked enemy naval units off the Dutch coast, sinking two cruisers and one destroyer, and badly damaging one destroyer and two transports. The Admiralty states, Daventry reports, that except for the submarine Seal, no British warship has been sunk or seriously damaged since the Germans invaded the Low Countries. No mishap has befallen any supply ship or transport. Subsequently the Admiralty announced that the destroyer Valentine was' damaged by air attack off the Dutch coast and has been beached. The casualties are believed to be slight.
