FEILDING SALE.
KEEN PRICES FOR FAT SHEEP

Most unfavourable weather prevailed in Feilding tdoay for the weekly stock sale, but the market was quite strong, particularly for sheep. A particularly light entry of fat sheep sold at keen prices, values advancing about 2s on those of the previous week for both ewes and wethers. Though the quality of the store sheep offering was not first class, the demand was strong, prices for best sorts showing an appreciation. Store cattle supplies were also short, practically no station stock being on offer. Works cows were not up to the usual standard of quality and made lower values. A nominal penning of dairy stock, mainly spring cows, sold at firm prices. Beef was in fairly heavy supply, but values were maintained. CARTERTON SALE. LATE RATES MAINTAINED. Messrs Wright. Stephenson and Co . report as follows:—We offered a small yarding of stock at our Carterton sale yesterday to a small attendance. Despite the very rough weather a total clearance was effected at. late rates. The following are the realisations:— Sheep—Fat hoggets, 20s 9d, Cattle—Fat cows, £6. £5 16s, £■> 10s £4 ss. £4; forward cows. £3 Ijs. £3 10s. £3. £2 15s. bulls. £2 15s. Pigs: Weaners. 12s. Ils. 10s. 9s. 8s Gd. store pigs. IGs. porkers. £2 10s.
