The 93rd birthday or Mrs. Mary Slatter, Hataitai, Wellington, was celebrated with a quiet family party yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Slatters was born in Nelson on May 9. 1847. Her parents arrived by the Fifeshire on February 1. 1842. She is still quite active .and does the cooking and sewing for her household. She takes a keen interest in all current events, and can relate many reminiscences of early pioneering days. She has four daughters living, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. The daughters are Mrs. J. Henderson. Johnsonville; Mrs. Jordan. Christchurch; Miss Maude Slatter. Hataitai; and Mrs. Berry, Australia.
