SILENT SENTRIES AWAIT THE RAIDERS.—Balloons are being used for the purpose of defeating enemy raiders should they approach certain of Britain's large cities. Approaching enemy warplanes are afraid of striking the mooring cables, which are almost invisible. The raiders must therefore fly above the barrage of balloons at a height where British antiaircraft guns and planes can deal with them.
