CRITICISM OF WHITSUN HOLIDAY.
DAY OFF FROM JOB' OF FIGHTING FOR LIFE.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day,-10.50 a.m.) LONDON. May fi.
The "Daily Mail" says: "Hall' our productive machinery works only one shift daily for lack of skilled hands. This is not a one-shift or two-shift war. it is a three-shift war. demanding every ounce of our energy and every minute of our time. Yet many armament factories and aircraft works, including Woolwich Arsenal, are closing on May 13 for the Whitsun holiday. Britain is taking a day off from the job of fighting for her life. Well may her friends despair and her enemies rejoice."
