PLEA FOR PEACE
MADE BY THE POPE
CRITICAL HOUR FOR ALL ITALIANS.
HIS HOLINESS GIVEN GREAT OVATION
The Pope has made a new plea for peace, Daventry reports. He prayed that Italy would be spared the horrors of war. The hour had come, he said, for all Italians to pray for peace. He received a tremendous ovation, the congregation cheering for nearly five minutes, and shouting repeatedly “Long Live the- Pope.”
