PADDY’S MARKET
FOOD COOKED IN MAORI OVEN. ' The Paddy’s Market and Maori oven organised by the Ladies’ committee of the To Ore Oro Meeting House rebulding committee and held in a vacant section in Queen Street yesterday was an outstanding’ success. There was a large crowd of spectators to witness the setting and the opening of the Maori oven. The stalls were well stocked with produce, etc., and the freshly cooked food, served in “rauraus" or small flax baskets met with a keen demand. As a result of the day’s effort the sum of £42 was raised. The committee wish, to thank all who made donations to the market, and the public for its generous: support.
