MOTOR FATALITIES
WATERSIDE WORKER'S DEATH. TRAGEDY AT PORT AHURIRI. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS. May 3. A waterside worker. Mr Jeremiah Foley, single, aged about 35, a resident of Port Aliuriri, Napier, received fatal injuries when he was knocked down by a motor truck at Port Ahuriri this evening. Mr Foley was one of a party of four men crossing a street. The others stepped back on the approach of the truck. Mr Foley continued, and was knocked down. He received a fractured arm. The injuries at first did not appear to bo serious, but shortly after admission to hospital Mr Foley died from severe internal injuries. COLLISION WITH LORRY. DAIRYMAN DIES FROM INJURIES. AUCKLAND, May 3. Fatal injuries were suffered by an elderly passenger in a light milk delivery van when the vehicle collided with the back of a stationary motorlorry on the Great North Road in New Lynn shortly before nine o’clock tonight. The victim was Mr William James Smith, dairyman, New Lynn.
