WEDDINGS

YOUNG—MILLS. The wedding took place recently at St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, Macquarie Street, Sydney, of Marjorie Elsie, daughter of Mr and Mrs S. A. Mills, of Masterton, and Robert, son of Mr and Mrs T. Young, of Feilding. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. G. Cameron-Wood. The bride, who entered the church escorted by Mr W. Nicholls, of Sydney, wore a smart American model frock of navy Marinella and large felt hat to tone and carried a navy kid bag on which was pinned a posy of red talisman roses and fern. The' bridesmaid was Miss Truda Beechy, of Wellington, and Mr R. W. R. Chiswell, of Auckland, was best man. A reception and dinner was later held at the Hotel Australia, where a number of New Zealanders were present. The bride’s travelling frock was of Danish blue angora with accessories to tone. She carried a fox fur. The bride's future home will be at Elizabeth Bay, Sydney. RICHARDS—WHITEMAN. St. Matthew's Church, Masterton, was the scene of a very pretty wedding when Olive May, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Whiteman, Lansdowne, was married to Reginald Charles, second son of Mrs. and the late Mr. W. T. Richards, of Masterton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. V. W. Joblin.

The-bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gOAvn of figured satin, -cut on simple lines, with full skirt and slight train. Her beautiful embroidered veil was kept in place by a halo of pleated tulle and orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of cream rosebuds and gladioli with maiden-hair fern.

The bridesmaids were Misses Ivy Whiteman (chief), Mavis Whiteman and Norma Richards, who were dressed alike in frocks of wave-crest taffeta with rucked bodices and full skirts, with slight bustle effect. They wore juliet caps to match, and carried bou. quets of golden dahlias and rosebuds, with maiden-hair fern.

The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. J. Richards. Messrs. A. Donald (Wellington) and R. Smith were groomsmen. Messrs R. Doggett and J. Whiteman acted as ushers.

A reception was later held at the Prince of Wales Hotel, where the guests were received by Mrs. White-, man, wearing a black ensemble with touches of white, assisted by Mrs. Richards, also wearing black. They both carried autumn-tinted bouquets. For travelling the bride chose a frock, coat and hat of petrel blue, with navy accessories.

Mr. and Mrs. Richards’ future home will be in Masterton.
